Genjutsu Lite: price per video, and when to use HQ

Genjutsu Lite is the faster, cheaper version of Genjutsu, the motion-transfer model made by Higgsfield. Higgsfield's own app calls it Genjutsu Lite; the API version we run is listed as Genjutsu Light. Same idea: carry the motion, camera, timing and audio of a source video over to the person or pet in your photos, at a lower cost than full Genjutsu. On Genjutsu Generator, Light will be the default for every template, with full Genjutsu as an optional HQ upgrade.

The app opens soon. Join early access and we'll email you when it's ready.

Genjutsu Lite price per video

Here's what a full 15-second clip will cost on Genjutsu Generator at launch, for Light and for HQ:

ModelResolutionCredits per secondCredits for 15sApprox. price
Light480p575$1.49–1.69
Light720p10150$2.97–3.38
Light1080p19285$5.64–6.41
HQ (full Genjutsu)480p16240$4.75–5.40
HQ (full Genjutsu)720p34510$10.10–11.48

Planned launch pricing. Credits = seconds used (max 15, rounded up) × credits per second. The dollar range depends on which pack the credits come from: $0.0198 per credit in the $99 Studio pack up to $0.0225 per credit in the $9 Starter pack. If the clip is shorter than 15 seconds, it costs less, and the app will show the exact credit cost before you press Generate.

How length works

On Genjutsu Generator, the source clip needs to be at least 4 seconds long, and we process up to the first 15 seconds. If your clip is longer, we trim it to its first 15 seconds before generating, so the cost never goes above the 15-second price for your resolution.

Billing is per second of output, rounded up. A 9.2-second clip at Light 720p is billed as 10 seconds: 10 × 10 = 100 credits. If the output comes out shorter than the estimate, the difference will go back to your balance.

This 15-second limit is our setting, applied to every model and resolution so prices stay predictable. Other apps that run Genjutsu Lite may handle longer clips differently; check their own pages for their limits.

Light vs HQ: which to pick

Light (default) is right for most trends. It's fast, it's cheap, and it's the only option that goes up to 1080p. Use it for trying a few versions of a template, for one-person dances, and for anything you'll post as a quick meme.

HQ (full Genjutsu) runs Higgsfield's full model for cleaner motion. It's only available at 480p and 720p, and it costs about 3x the credits of Light. It's worth it when Light struggles: very fast hand movement (Tecktonik Dance), two people interacting closely (Hotel Lobby, Zombie Hug), or a clip you want to look as polished as possible.

A sensible approach: generate with Light at 480p first. If the motion looks right, re-run at 720p or 1080p for the version you post. If hands, faces or the second person look off, try HQ.

What both models keep

Both Light and HQ are built to keep the source clip's motion, camera and timing, and on Genjutsu Generator the source audio is kept too. You'll add 1 to 8 reference photos of the same person or pet. For the templates on this site, the template supplies the source clip and the setup, so you don't have to build the scene yourself.
